Frabjous Year 2019

Somehow, I managed time to write down my travel stories and I'm happy as a box of birds to share my experience with all.

As a travel enthusiast, I'm always trying & flaunting new places. I'm always thinking and discussing the places to visit such as adventures, historical, relaxing and mesmerizing places to plan and fly like a free bird. It's difficult to plan trips considering leaves but I know it's not impossible. It's all about your willingness and work-life balance.

Sometimes, being a common working person we think that we can't wander everywhere and can't afford traveling as many people think about the budget. Friends, if you really wish to live your passion then make a wish and try to execute with proper planning, you can visit so many places in a lesser budget. If you end up with failure take it as learning else you will be having a life full of memories.

Nevertheless, I would like to share my traveling journey/experience here from January 2019.

January 2019

On 27th January, I went to Pench National Park with my friends. It was my first Jungle Safari. Pench National Park is located in Seoni and Chhindwara districts of Madhya Pradesh in India. It is an ideal destination for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. It derives its name from the Pench River that flows through the park from north to south dividing the park into almost equal western and eastern halves, the well-forested areas of Seoni and Chhindwar a districts respectively. It’s about 110 kms from Nagpur which is about a 2-2.5 hours drive from the Nagpur Airport.

Pench National Park is especially famous for large herds of Gaur (Indian Bison), Cheetal, Sambar, Nilgai, Wild Dog and Wild Pig. The key predator is the Tiger followed by Leopard, Wild Dog and Wolf.

The best time to visit the Pench National Park is between November and May. Summer months of April and May are when the tiger and other wildlife sightings are maximum. With around 40 tigers and enough water bodies for them to visit during the summer heat, the number of tiger sightings are quite high at Pench. If you book 2-3 wildlife safaris during your weekend stay at Pench, your are almost certain to spot the tiger at least once. Safari timings are from 6 am to 10.30 am and 3 pm to 6 pm. You need to book your safari online and the whole process is quite well-organized. You need to carry your PAN card as identity proof when you visit the sanctuary.

After a long journey by train to Nagpur, we took a cab to Pench and he dropped us at Jungle Home Pench. The trip was planned in a very good manner by my friend Sameer. As decided, our call time was 4.30 am. With a hot cup of tea, we were all geared up to venture into the core zone of the Pench Tiger Reserve. The jeep was speeding through the deciduous forest. The ride in the forest wasn't flat. The route went uphill and downhill giving a hint of adventure. Seeing nature in the most peaceful environment, the rustling of the dry leaves and the orchestra of birds were those little things that made me happy. The sound of forest and the cold breeze made me appreciate the jungle even more in the morning. Most of the trees in Pench Forest are really tall, as are the ghost trees that grow up to 15 metres in height. We had taken three safaris to Touria Zone and three to Khursapar zone.

The very sight of my first Tiger sighting was remarkable. I couldn’t believe my luck, within less than an hour we saw three cubs of Langdi Tigress in the touria zone. Next day in a chilly and cold morning, there were few very alert calls from monkeys and deer's. Again a Langdi Tigress with four cubs was sighted. That scene made us feel like we were truly worth the jungle safari. Almost as much time as we spent spotting tigers and birds.
There is nothing like the thrill of walking through the jungle looking for a tiger and knowing they could be watching you already. I learned one thing that Patience is Key factor in the jungle safaris. The visit to Pench National Park was a great experience. I loved it!

September 2019

I went to a trip to Hampi in the month of september. Hampi has an unearthly landscape of boulders, fascinating history in each corner, thousands of years old ruined temples and palaces & unbelievable architecture. We visited Virupaksha temple, Hemakuta hill, Vitthala temple, Matanga hill, lotus mahal, queen's bath. It’s truly a land of fantasy. Hampi let travelers dive into history to experience the lost tales of South India’s largest, wealthiest and the most powerful kingdom, Vijayanagara Empire. There really is something magical about Hampi that I just can’t describe, there’s a good reason why this place is very much on the backpacker trail in India.

April 2019

Maharashtra is filled with beautiful hill stations. During the summer of 2019, I decided to go to a hill station, Panhala. Panhala fort is around 20km away from Kolhapur. It was one of the important forts to keep watch on Deccan region. Notable events linked with Panhala were the escape of Shivaji Maharaj from Siddi Jouhar’s trap followed by Battle in Pawankhind, the capital fort of Kolhapur state, queen Tarabai’s life etc. We visited Andhar Bavadi first at Panhala Fort. Andhar Bavadi means Hidden well. It was the drinking water source of Fort. Teen Darwaza (Means Three Entrance gate) is the main entrance of Panhala Fort and located on West side of Fort. There is a court between the first two gates. Inner gates are decorated with beautiful carving and Lord Ganesh idol is also carved on the gate. Our next destination was Ambarkhan. It consists of three buildings (Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati) which were used to store grains. Our next place to visit was Sajja Kothi. The main purpose is to keep a close watch on the valley.

October 2019

I decided to have pilgrimage trip to Shree Kshetra Audumbar, which is located in Palus Tehasil. It is known for the shrine of Lord Dattatreya. The shrine is situated at a lovely spot on the banks of the Krishna River.
